In the last 5 weeks, 12th grade students worked on developing, designing, and

marketing an application. They created a music application and called it “Boomin’tunes”. The

whole class was responsible for building the application. We broke up the class into 4 teams:

Backend team, Frontend team, Design team, and Product Development team. The Backend

team was in charge of launching the application and integrating the work of the frontend and

design teams. The Frontend team worked with the design team to select logos, colors, and

agree on the overall layout of the application. The product development team was in charge of

marketing the application, testing it, and generating social media content. The backend team

was able to successfully build the APK and launch the application via android studio after

troubleshooting two errors. The application is currently available for download on androids,

iphone is not yet supported. The backend team utilized spotify’s API to provide music to all its

subscribers. The Frontend team used GUM (website building platform) to create the website for

Boomin’tunes. They also worked with the design team to create logos, select colors, and build

the overall layout of the web app and the phone app. The product development team created a

pitch deck which is a full blown presentation that speaks on the benefits of their application. It is

an extensive analyzation of demographics as well as an overall pros and cons of their app.

Similar to the 7th graders, the Product Development team also utilized layAR. They used their

logo and with layAR, were able to make it interactive. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and the link

to the website were all accessible just by snapping a pic of the Boomin’tunes logo. Upon

completion of the app, each group will be required to do 10-15 minute presentation that talks

about the application and the role they played in building it. Recently, the product development

team gave an excellent presentation.
